The Pressure is On! (& some other stuff)

The pressure is officially on! I don't dare call anyone because if I do they automatically think that I'm in labour or had the baby already. So I've stopped calling people. (I'm flattered that people care though!) I was a week early with Rebekah so I myself am trying to not get my hopes up to high on this one being early.

But what I'm really nervous about and a little upset over is that the carpets and lino that were SUPPOSED to be installed on June 23-25 have been pushed back till June 27-28! So therefore that means that the nursery and the rest of the house will be in total disarray until the carpets and lino is installed! How can anyone do any nesting?!?!?! (I've done some but realized it's probably a waste of time seeing that it's going to be all disaster like around here until that is all done.) I really shouldn't worry about this sort of stuff...I should have learned this by now....I'm not in control and I have to let things go.

On a brighter note...I went to some garage sales this weekend and got a baby swing for $5 and a Bumbo chair for $10! (Keep in mind that I'm not one to bargain and I actually did get these items by bargaining! Also keep in mind that I really didn't need any of these items...meaning I could have probably done without...but because of the price I couldn't pass it up! For example: With Rebekah I didn't have a Bumbo chair...I just propped her up with a breastfeeding pillow and with the swing I had actually borrowed one from my sister...granted it was outdated (her youngest is 9) and probably could borrow it again...but every time that we are in the City I forget to get it!)

Cheers!

37 Weeks Ultrasound

So the ultrasound yesterday went really well. I was disappointed however that I couldn't get a picture and they actually weren't going to show me the baby on the screen either. Their excuse was that they were busy and backed up (nobody was in the waiting room), and it was hard to see the baby at this time (which I'm also not buying because I've seen friends ultrasound pictures at this stage and you could see the babies profile.) I did however get a chance at the end to briefly see the baby on the computer screen...although they were hesitant.

The head is down so that is good news and the tech asked if I knew what the gender of the baby was....I told him that at the last ultrasound they couldn't really tell but were thinking boy. He told me that it was! I saw on the screen what he called the testicles and something was moving and he said that was the penis. The baby's weight as of yesterday was 7 lbs 11oz and the heart rate was either 136 or 139 (I can't remember any more). The whole point of the ultrasound was to check the size and position of baby. So now I'm reassured and can rest easy until the hard work begins! ;-)

I called Dylan on the way out to the van and I started to cry. I was happy but I'm nervous because I don't know what to do with a boy. What parts do I move when I'm changing his diaper? Will I be close to him? Will Dylan be close to him because he had mentioned when we were pregnant with Rebekah that if he had a boy he wouldn't cuddle with him or hold him as much. This troubled me. I've had all night to think about it and I'm getting use to the idea now and can't wait for his arrival (or hers if they are wrong) Now we just have to finalize the name! ;-)

37 Weeks and 3 days

Once again, it's that time again. I had an appointment on the 4th of June at that time I was 35 weeks and 5days but it looks like I forgot to write about that visit. I had a babysitter lined up for that one because I was getting my Group B Strep swab done and honestly didn't know how Rebekah was going to do so I asked my friend to come over and babysit Rebekah as I waited. I must say that was really nice. At the 35 week appointment the heart rate was in the 150's again (not exactly sure what the exact heart rate was because it's upstairs and I'm downstairs.) at that visit I was also 109.4kg (240.6 lbs)

Well today, I had another appointment and my weight was 111.4 kg (245lbs) and the baby was moving around so the heart rate while the doctor was listening went from 139 to somewhere in 150's) I did ask if I was measuring ok and the dr said that I was measure right on at 37 weeks. I also asked about my Group B strep swab result and it was negative. I have an ultrasound on Wednesday so I'm hoping that things will go well with that too. They are going to check the size and make sure of the position of the baby.

Now about the weight gain...we went on Holidays from June 10th to June14th and I can honestly say that I over ate while we were gone. But we had a splendid time in the rain even if there was only 2 days were it didn't rain.) So we didn't do to much exercise. I'm thankful that we went with friends of ours and we had such a fabulous time. I seriously think that if it was just Dylan, Rebekah and I, I'm quite certain that we would have come back earlier than expected. Anyway, we had a great time but I felt like I was slowing everyone down when we did get a chance to go for a walk/hike.
